Who Is Archangel Metatron, and Why I Work With Him
In the tradition I was trained in, Archangel Metatron is the keeper of the records. I request him by name when I open a reading, not to command him, but because he holds the door to the book I am asking to read.
In the tradition I was trained in, Archangel Metatron is the keeper of the records. When I open an Akashic Records reading, I request him by name, because he is the one who holds the door to the book I am asking to read. I do not work with him because he is dramatic or grand. I work with him because the process I was taught places him at the threshold, and I have learned to trust the threshold.
Who Metatron is in the tradition I learned
Metatron is named across several old traditions, and the stories differ. In the tradition my guru passed to me, he is the archangel who keeps the record of each soul, the one who stands at the entrance of the metaphysical library held in the Akasha. Every soul who has ever lived has a book there. When I read for you, I am reading your book for this lifetime, the current chapter, and Metatron is the keeper I ask to bring it out.
I am careful here. I am not a scholar of angels and I will not recite a lineage I did not live. What I can tell you is how he functions in my work. He is the keeper I address, and the addressing is not decoration. It is how the record knows which book is being asked for.
How I request him in the Pathway Prayer Process
I open with the Pathway Prayer Process, taught the way it was passed down. Inside it I make a request to Metatron, then I say your full name three times, then your birth date and your birthplace. That sequence is an address, the way a letter needs a name and a street before it can arrive. The prayer is not me commanding a being to appear. It is me knocking and asking to be let in.
Something shifts when I say it. The room narrows. What I notice next comes not as a thought but as a frame I drop into, and from inside that frame the answers arrive steady. When I close and step out at the end, the room widens again and I am tired in the body the way I am after a long day of teaching. It is a real expenditure, and that tiredness is one of the ways I know I was actually somewhere.
The ground I stand on is Sai Baba
Before any archangel, there is Sai Baba. I am devoted to him, and that devotion is the ground I stand on when I do this work. I do not approach the records as a technician operating a machine. I approach as a devotee who has been given something to carry carefully. When I sit to read, I sit as someone who belongs to Baba first, and everything else follows from that.
This matters for you because it tells you the posture I read in. Not clever, not performing, not reaching for effect. Quiet, asking, ready to be told no. It is very hard to inflate yourself when you have already put yourself under something larger.
Devotion is what keeps a practice honest.
What I do not claim about him
I do not summon Metatron and I do not command him. I request, and I am sometimes told no. There are readings where the door does not open, or opens only a little, and on those days I tell the person honestly that the record did not give me much. I will not pretend an archangel is at my beck. That framing is backwards. I am the one who asks.
I also will not sell him to you. I will not tell you Metatron has a personal message waiting with your name on it to make you book. If a message comes, it comes from your own soul's record, not manufactured to please you. These limits are not modesty. They are how the work stays reverent instead of theatrical.
A reading where the door stayed mostly closed
A man came to me certain that his record would hand him a single clear instruction about his career. I opened with the prayer and requested Metatron as I always do, and very little came. What did arrive was small and gentle, a nudge to mend one specific relationship before asking about work at all. He wanted more and I did not have more to give. I told him the door had opened only that far. Weeks later he wrote to say the small thing had been the true thing. I am not telling you this to promise every reading resolves. I am telling you that being given little, and saying so, is part of working with a keeper you do not control.
If you want to sit with this
Working with Metatron is not something you do to me or watch me perform. It is the opening of an Akashic Records reading, where I request the keeper, say your name, and read the chapter you are living now. If you would rather first understand who I am, how I trained, and where my devotion sits, the about page is the honest place to start.
